Greebles!

Greebles is an action packed game of skill involving Bulldozers, Cockroaches and Fish. With one hundred unique levels to explore, it will keep a single player busy, and when you add multi-player play (up to four people on a single computer, and up to nine computers playing over a network) the possibilities expand enormously.

Available natively on Windows, macOS, and Linux including cross-platform network play.

Produced in collaboration with Stairways Software, Greebles intends to be an exact replica of the original game released in 1997.

How to Play

Players attempt to navigate a maze of blocks while crushing Greebles to gain points. The more Greebles you crush, the more points you get! When no Greebles remain, play progresses to the next level.

There are only 5 control buttons for each player. 4 directional controls, and 1 to push blocks. When a block is pushed with nothing behind it, it starts sliding. When a sliding block collides with a Greeble (or a player), it is crushed.

Blocks can also be crushed by pushing them against other blocks. This is useful for navigating the maze, or obtaining benefits from special blocks.

Ohoho, I need this.

OMG, thank you *so much* for putting in the time and work to put this together. I have tried off and on (unsuccessfully) to get this running on an emulator for *years*, and never found a port I could play until now. This is so beyond worth the price of admission. Required no tweaking or effort on my part to run it on an M1 MacBook, just download and launch and be transported back to the computer room. GAME OVER MAN

I gave it a trial run. It is a pretty good reproduction, albeit there are rough edges that make it an imperfect replica of the original. I have compiled a list of 20+ things that I believe are different from the original game (which I have played extensively), and or/buggy.  @Developers - I would email it to you, but you don't seem to have any contact information anywhere, and I'm not sure I want to fill the comments section of your pages with feedback and bug reports that others might take to imply that the game isn't that good. If you are still around, please let me know how you would like to receive my report. If it is satisfactory, I can also make a video that points out some of these bugs in live action.

At any rate, I've always thought Greebles was a marvelous, underrated Mac game. This port already captures a large amount of what made it great, and with the flaws fixed, there's no reason why it can't be fully successful in reproducing the original experience. Classic Mac ports are a worthy endeavour generally, and this is an especially worthy game to port, and it deserves more public attention than it seems to have gotten so far.

Thanks for the feedback, James! Just one developer here, but I'd love to fix the issues you've found. Please open an issue (or several) on GitHub, or use this form.
